Handytile™ Ceiling Tiles
Tile size is 600mm x 600mm. Each tile has bevelled edges. Tile thickness is approximately 10mm. Colour is white only. Patterns available as in diagrams below right.

Tiles are made from a find grade of polystyrene with a finish that looks equally good left as is or they can be painted with a water based paint. DO NOT allow solvents or solvent based paint to contact tiles.

Surfaces must be clean and free from flaking paint, loose dirt and grease. The adhesive is only as good as the surface to which it is adhering so make sure the paint on any surface to be tiled is not liable to lift away.

If the ceiling has calsomine, whitewash or powdering plaster, bind back with a reliable sealer. If the ceiling
has dropped or sagged, nail it back as level as possible.

For both length and width of the room to obtain the best margin results, it is recommended that you start with the centre of the tile in the centre of the ceiling or the edge of the tile on the centre line of the ceiling. Apply recommended adhesive to the back surface of first tile approximately 3mm thick, 15-25mm wide in bands around the edge and one band across the middle.

DO NOT apply adhesive to extremity of tile; leave a margin of approximately 20mm to ensure the adhesive does not force out.

Press tile into contact with the surface to be bonded, and hold for a few seconds. Repeat with the next tile, working towards the walls until the ceiling is completely
covered. Trim tiles with a trimming knife to fit the edges.

When installing, take care that you have not moved the first tile, as this will put the others out of line. Do not use fingertips to place tiles in position
because you may leave indents in the tile’s surface.
